Put Your Best Brain Forward: The Critical Role of Mental Stimulation in Preserving Brain Health

January 25, 2026 @ 9:30 am10:30 am

Lynn Breuer LMSW, CDP and Mackenzie Steele, LMSW, CHC from Jewish Family
Service will show us **how we can strengthen our overall cognition and help us
age well!**

Awareness that strong cognition is critical to aging well and on our own terms
are so important! Yet those who are lucky enough to live a long life will
experience some form of age-related cognitive decline. Do you know how to
maximize your brain health? While there are several lifestyle factors that can
help, the right kind of cognitive stimulation is critical. Just like we
exercise our bodies to be as strong as possible as we age, there are specific
exercises we can do to have our cognition as strong as possible!

**This class is a prelude to _Mind Aerobics_ starting on March 10, 2x a week
on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 to 2pm at Adat Shalom until the end of May. Led
by JFS**
These classes will give your brain a workout based on over a decade of
research from the New England Cognitive Center (NECC), including challenging
six critical cognitive functions with increasing speed and difficulty as the
sessions progress, and slowing down cognitive decline in order to maintain or
even improve your cognition.
