Since 1945, our Men’s Club at Adat Shalom has been a cornerstone of the synagogue community and is at the heart of our congregation. The Men’s Club helps connect men who are dedicated to improving and strengthening the overall values of our spiritual home. We do this while maintaining our core beliefs of tikkun olam, compassion, tzedakah, strength, unity, resilience and Yiddishkeit. We are incredibly proud to represent our synagogue as the most active Men’s Club in the Jewish community.
Our year-round programming includes both spiritual and secular events, from our annual Men’s Club Shabbat, which includes a retreat and classes with Rabbis Bergman and Nosanwisch and Hazzan Gross, to one of the Jewish community’s largest Daddy-Daughter dances. Our annual Sports Night has brought some of the metro area’s most prominent media figures to the synagogue to speak, and we have an active softball team playing against other synagogues on Sunday mornings in the summer. Other regular programs include a Health Breakfast focusing on a wide variety of men’s health issues, a Men’s Seder, sponsoring a Pesach kiddush after services, distributing Yom HaShoah memorial candles, programs for fathers and sons, and more. We’ve taken day trips to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, and around Jewish sites in metro Detroit.
We have an incredible, active year planned ahead and hope you can be a vital part.
